John Mollica is a self-taught artist, lettering specialist, music promoter, and proud resident of Macon, GA. Originally from Massachusetts, Johnny started his career in Memphis, TN as a screen printer, using T-shirts as a vehicle for his art. Over the years, he has produced art for album covers, posters, and merchandise for dozens of unknown bands and a few that are more recognizable, including the Allman Brothers Band, Gov’t Mule, Derek Trucks, and Susan Tedeschi.
Today Mollica focuses most of his art efforts on larger paintings and pieces that incorporate found objects, fabric and bottle caps. He is a primary force in the Middle Georgia Absurdist art movement and spends much of his time organizing and promoting events that showcase other artists and musicians in Macon.
